Player Profile #22: Peter Escott (New Zealand)

Peter Escott is a middle-order batsman and medium-slow right-arm bowler who has played most of his club cricket for Takapuna CC.

Pete represented North Harbour when it started as an association playing in the U-Bix Cup competition and scored the first century for the province. He had two seasons with the Auckland 2nd XI before moving to Melbourne for work, where he played for St. Kilda CC (Shane Warne’s club).

Pete also had two summers in Gloucestershire, playing for Stroud CC in the Western league, where he made the league representative team. He has played indoor cricket for New Zealand and was a North Harbour field hockey representative.

In recent years, Pete has been a regular member of the Auckland Cavaliers side, as well as playing for Takapuna occasionally, and has devoted much of his time to coaching junior and school cricket.

He also played in both of New Zealand’s matches against Australia in February of 2018.
